The Calgary Health Foundation’s 2024 Hospital Home Lottery supports women’s health, and the grand prize — a 5,500-square-foot designer home created by Crystal Creek Homes and worth $3.2 million — redefines luxury living.
One lucky ticket holder will be awarded this stunning fully furnished, professionally decorated and landscaped home along with $100,000 cash.
“We wanted to ensure this home exudes luxury in every aspect,” says Melissa Friesen, creative design manager, interior and architectural design for Crystal Creek Homes.
Located against the cascading ponds in Watermark at Bearspaw with west-facing views of the Rocky Mountains, the home features plenty of space for the whole family, starting with an elegant and sophisticated oversized kitchen with a cozy breakfast nook that melds seamlessly into a two-storey great room with a 21-foot, floor-to-ceiling custom plaster fireplace and hearth with an oversized town and country fireplace.
“Despite its grandeur, the warmth and texture we’ve incorporated make this room feel inviting and cozy,” says Friesen.

It’s a feeling that starts with the home’s modern craftsman-styled exterior, which then seamlessly transitions into the interior spaces via the home’s two-storey shaker panel foyer, where a stunning staircase with custom-designed two-tone railings and curved spindle details takes centre stage.
“From the moment you walk into this home, you can see out to the yard,” says Friesen, adding that floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flood every room.
The main floor features a private mother-in-law suite with direct access to a west-facing deck that boasts stunning views of the serene pond system beyond. The lower level invites endless entertainment and leisure with a games space, private gym and a golf simulator.
In total, the home offers five bedrooms, including a stunning master suite with a serene and spa-like ensuite.
This is the second Hospital Home Lottery home that Crystal Creek has designed and built. The first one, which was awarded in 2023, is also located in Watermark.
“We are honoured to participate in the Hospital Home Lottery, giving back to our wonderful community. Hospitals have played a crucial role in all our lives, and this initiative is a fantastic opportunity for Crystal Creek Homes and our trade partners to show our support and gratitude,” says Friesen.

Funds raised from the lottery will target women’s health including the reduction of waitlist times, the building of additional examination and treatment spaces, the expansion of existing initiatives, and the creation of new innovative programs focused on priorities identified by women in the community. The proceeds from this lottery will primarily support programming at South Health Campus, Rockyview General Hospital and Peter Lougheed Centre.
“We are hoping to raise $5.5 million through this lottery to create more firsts in women’s health. The unmet need in women’s health is a silent epidemic affecting half of our population. Reproductive health, pelvic floor health, mental health, autoimmune disorders and chronic conditions disproportionally impact women,” says Shannon MacMillan, director of communications at the Calgary Health Foundation.
She adds that historically, medical research has assumed that women’s and men’s bodies are alike enough not to warrant women-specific studies. “The result is a considerable gap in the understanding of a woman’s physiology, specific disease risks, and prevention, screening and treatment needs.”

The focus on women’s health is extremely timely given that by 2051, Alberta’s female population will have grown by 2.3 million.
“We envision a future where women’s health care receives adequate attention and resources. Together, we can be at the forefront of driving that change. Your community support will allow us to confront the gaps in the diagnosis, treatment and care of women’s health concerns in Alberta,” says Murray Sigler, president and CEO of the Calgary Health Foundation.
The Hospital Home Lottery show home is located at 13 Watermark Lane in Watermark at Bearspaw. It’s open for viewing Wednesday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from noon to 5 p.m. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Tickets are $100 each, three for $250, five for $375 and 10 for $700. The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 1, with the draw taking place on Nov. 12, 2024.
Tickets purchased by Oct. 11 will also be eligible to win the Early Bird Prize — a luxury two-bedroom, 1,542-square-foot condominium in Canmore built by Spring Creek valued at $1 million. The condominium comes with $25,000. In total, more than 1,500 prizes will be awarded, including luxury vehicles, local and international vacations, leisure packages and more.
