Armed suspects attacked Canmore gas station worker before robbery: RCMP

Mounties are searching for two armed suspects after a robbery at a convenient store in Canmore on Thursday morning.

Canmore RCMP say officers were called to the Circle K gas station on Bow Valley Trail around 6:50 a.m. for reports of a robbery.

It is alleged two suspects, who were reportedly armed with a gun and a knife, tried to grab a staff member who was restocking ice outside the store. The employee was able to get away from the pair and lock themselves in a back room of the store.

One of the suspects went inside the store and stole several items before leaving, according to police. No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a heavy set with a medium complexion, clean shaven and 20 to 30-years-old, wearing a grey sweat suit with a Crooks and Castle logo.

The second suspect is described as heavy set with a medium complexion, 16 to 20-years-old, wearing a white-hooded jacket with a checker design.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
