Dangerous persons alert and shelter in place order issued for Wheatland County

A dangerous persons alert has prompted Strathmore RCMP to issue a shelter in place order for Wheatland County.

Two armed and extremely dangerous suspects are currently in the area of Highway 564 and Range Road 252 north of Strathmore, Alta., according to an Alberta Emergency Alert.

An RCMP release on Monday afternoon said Strathmore police were currently on scene and had set up a containment area as they search for the suspects.

Residents within the following township roads are being asked to stay inside and not answer their doors:

  • North border — Township Road 262.
  • East borer — Township Road 245.
  • South border — Township Road 252.
  • West border — Township Road 255.
