CTrain closure: Stretch of Blue Line shutting down for weekend maintenance

A stretch of Calgary’s Blue Line will be closed for maintenance this weekend.

Calgary Transit says there will be no CTrain service between City Hall/Bow Valley College and Marlborough stations on Saturday and Sunday.

Shuttle buses will run in place of trains and stop at each station along the closure with the exception of Zoo station. An express bus will also run every 10 minutes between City Hall and Marlborough stations with no stops in between.

Anyone trying to get to Zoo Station will need to get off at Bridgeland/Memorial, there will be shuttle buses running between there and Zoo station every 20 minutes.

Train service along the closure is scheduled to resume early Monday morning at the regular start of service.

The city says the repair and maintenance projects that will be completed during the closure include:

  • Roof repairs at Barlow/Max Bell
  • Glass repairs at Zoo
  • Work on the Deerfoot Bridge
  • Regular inspections and maintenance in the 36 Street Tunnel
  • Fall arrest inspections at Bridgeland/Memorial, Zoo, Barlow/Max Bell, and Franklin
  • Exterior pressure washing and interior cleaning at Franklin
