A stretch of Deerfoot Trail has been shut down in southeast Calgary on Thursday afternoon due to an ongoing investigation.
Calgary police say northbound Deerfoot is closed at Seton Boulevard SE for a mental health incident.
The highway was shut down around 5 p.m. Police say traffic is expected to be impacted for several hours.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
