Although the Scotiabank Saddledome is nearing the end of its life, the Calgary Flames and Sportsnet have decided on an addition they say will elevate the game experience for fans in the aging facility.
The Calgary Flames said Thursday a new, state-of-the-art, centre-hung scoreboard will be installed in the arena for the start of the 2024-25 NHL season.
“For the remaining years inside the Scotiabank Saddledome, this technology will continue our commitment to elevate the fan experience for all sports fans in Calgary,” the team said.
The new Sportsnet Scoreboard will have four 3.9mm video displays, each measuring 30 feet wide by 18 feet high — 3.75 times larger than the old video screens.

It will also have an upper LED halo ring with a 40-foot circumference, which the Flames say will showcase partnership and fan experience elements.
