Two people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash near Chinook Centre in southwest Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.
Calgary police tell CityNews a two-vehicle crash happened just after 5 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Macleod Trail approaching 58 Avenue SW.
Police say both drivers were rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One of the drivers needed to be extricated from their vehicle.
No other injuries were reported.
There is no word on the cause of the crash.
The collision has blocked the right lane on southbound Macleod causing a backup for drivers. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route through the area.
