Calgary is about to see a deep freeze with a 37-degree temperature drop

It’s a fresh workweek and you better get out there and enjoy the balmy temperatures this week, because a deep freeze is on the way for Calgary.

We may have very little snow on the ground thanks to plenty of sunshine and above-zero temperatures, but according to the seven-day forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), things are going to get downright chilly.

Calgary is set to stay well above the freezing mark all the way until the weekend, with the highest daytime high arriving on Wednesday at 12°C. The weather takes a turn Friday evening, with an overnight low of -17°C and the chance of rain showers or flurries.
