A lucky lottery player is heading into the holidays a new multimillionaire after a successful Lotto 6/49 draw.
Wednesday’s draw had a whopping $48 million Gold Ball jackpot. While no one nabbed that prize, the 20th White Ball was drawn.
A lottery player in Ontario matched all of the winning numbers 47267149-08, taking home the $1 million prize.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw prize were 07, 09, 17, 39, 41, 45, and bonus 47.
Another Ontario player matched six out of six numbers, taking home the $5 million lottery prize.
The fortune didn’t stop there.
Three people matched five out of six numbers, including the bonus, to split the second prize. A lottery player from Invermere, BC, one from Western Canada (subscription), and one from Ontario are each taking home $75,997.60.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw Extra prize were 2, 38, 41, and 55. Sadly, no one won the top prize of $500,000, but 43 Canadians did win a modest $1,000 each.
If the odds weren’t on your side this time, the next Lotto 6/49 jackpot on Saturday balloons to a staggering $50 million.
“The guaranteed prize winner has a 1-in-10 chance of walking away with $50 million! The draw machine now only contains nine white balls, each worth $1 million, and one Gold Ball worth $50 million,” reads a release from Loto-Québec.
There’s also Friday’s Lotto Max draw with a $20 million jackpot. If you haven’t checked your lottery tickets from earlier this week, someone won the second Lotto Max prize just in time for the holidays.
This Friday’s LOTTO MAX jackpot is an est. $20 million. Would you spend your extra time baking this holiday season if you won?

There have been quite a few big winners this month.
Two people split the $80 million prize during the December 3 Lotto Max draw.
One of the two winners, Jean Lamontagne, was at work when he checked and discovered he’d won a staggering $40 million prize. The 60-year-old from Montreal didn’t waste time sharing the news with his bosses first, adding that he’d take advantage of the Lotto Max windfall to retire earlier than planned.
