We sure are lucky to call Calgary home with all the amazing things it has to offer, and a new ranking has just placed YYC in the top 10 of the most liveable cities in Canada.
The ranking of the top 100 most liveable cities in Canada was completed for the second year in a row by The Globe and Mail, which evaluated 448 communities that had a population of at least over 10,000 based on 50 variables, which spanned 10 categories such as transportation, community, climate, amenities, and housing.
North Vancouver came in first place, followed by West Vancouver in second, Victoria in third, Winnipeg in fourth, Regina and Saskatoon in fifth and sixth, and Calgary in seventh.
YYC’s showing is impressive, considering it ranks higher than Vancouver, Ottawa, Halifax, Quebec City, and Toronto.
Calgary was the highest Alberta location on the list, with the runner-up being St. Albert, just outside of Edmonton, in 25th place.
If you were curious about how our pals up in Edmonton performed, they landed in 27th place on the list.
New to this year’s ranking was a survey sent to readers of the publication asking for insights on what matters most to them when choosing a place to live and how improvements can be made to its rankings.
