These are the top five spots where photo radar tickets are given in Alberta

If you’re a driver in Alberta, chances are you or someone you know has received a photo radar ticket from one of the top five locations.

Those days will soon be over, however, as earlier today, the province announced a significant reduction in the number of photo radar sites across the province.

Starting April 1, 2025, photo radar will be banned on provincial highways and limited to schools, playgrounds, and construction zones. Green-light speed cameras will also be banned, and municipalities will need to apply for exemptions to keep photo radar in specific high-collision areas.

So, as we say goodbye to receiving those pesky photo radar tickets in the mail, here are the top five revenue-generating sites from last year, including the number of tickets issued and total fines collected:
