Calgary has been hugged by some chilly temperatures lately, and we are set to swap our winter jackets for long sleeves as we head into next week.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Calgary is set to experience a temperature change of 31 Celsius degrees as we get through the current cold snap and start the upcoming work week.
The city will see a chance of flurries today and a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow, along with a steady hold in daytime highs, with a high of -10ºC in the forecast for today and -14°C on Thursday.
The overnight lows are where it gets really cold, ranging between -17°C and -16°C from tonight to Friday.
Sunday is the peak of the heat for us, with a daytime high of 10ºC and a mix of sun and cloud.
The temperatures sure take a massive jump as we start a fresh workweek, with Monday eyeing up a daytime high of 11ºC and staying above the freezing mark overnight. Tuesday is looking even better, with a high of 14ºC.
Another nice thing to see in the forecast over the coming days — no mention of snow on the way!
When you do the math between the overnight low on Wednesday and the daytime high on Tuesday, that’s a difference of 31 Celsius degrees over just a few days.
According to ECCC, the normal temperatures for Calgary at this time of year are a high of zero and a low of -11ºC.
