Calgary-based WestJet announced its new 2025 summer routes on Monday, and flights to two new US destinations are in the works.
WestJet is launching a two-times-weekly service between Calgary and Anchorage, Alaska, on June 29, and it will run until September 7.
The other new US destination is Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, which will offer service thrice weekly starting June 9 and running until October 13.
In addition to the two new US destinations, a new route between YYC and Minneapolis will start on May 16 and run four times a week until September 3. Flights to Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, Florida, will also receive a winter service extension.
Up to our north, our pals in Edmonton also landed a new WestJet destination, with a new five-times-weekly service between YEG and Salt Lake City taking flight on May 15.
“We are thrilled to continue enhancing connectivity for guests travelling through YYC Calgary International Airport with WestJet’s new routes and increased service to a number of exciting destinations,” said Balázs Bogats, chief commercial officer for the Calgary Airport Authority, in a news release.
“These additions create more opportunities for travellers to explore new sights and experiences, while bringing greater access to Calgary, the Rocky Mountains and Western Canada. Our close partnership with WestJet enables us to deliver exceptional travel experiences and support future growth for our community and region.”
