11 Calgary food events happening this week: November 18 to 24

We may not have even reached December yet, but there are already plenty of fun and festive foodie events heading to Calgary this week.

The holidays are just around the corner, and YYC is playing host to a ton of festive holiday pop-ups, Christmas markets and more.

Here are some of the best food events to check out in Calgary this week.

One-time-only events

One Dollar Empanada Extravaganza

Fancy getting your hands on some budget-friendly empanadas? We thought so. Latino Food Market will be offering a range of Colombian empanadas for just $1 apiece.

Canada’s Great Kitchen Party

The Canadian Culinary Championship is returning for its Calgary leg. Chefs from some of the city’s top restaurants will compete fiercely for a chance to compete in the finals in Ottawa next year. The qualifier event will also raise funds for local and national charities.

Owens Landing x Cabin Beer Pairing Dinner

This is one event beer lovers won’t want to miss. Owens Landing will be hosting a four-course dinner service, complete with pairings from Calgary’s own Cabin Beer for each course.

Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market

Get in the festive spirit with a visit to this Calgary Christmas market. The market hosts over 330 local vendors from which to shop, and there will also be delicious festive fare, including mulled wine, bratwurst, and holiday dinner stuffing balls.

Banff & Lake Louise Hot Chocolate Trail

Miracle on First Street

One of Calgary’s most popular seasonal cocktail bar pop-ups is returning to the city once more. Until December 24, Proof will be transformed into a winter wonderland and serve up plenty of festive sips.

Sippin’ Santa

If you’re looking to get your hands on some holiday-themed cocktails with a tropical twist, look no further than Ricardo’s Hideaway.

The menu includes some delicious holiday options like the Merry Spritzmas and Sugar Plum Mai Tai. You can also enjoy eats from Ricardo’s menu such as the Cheese Empanadas.

Eighty-Eight Brewing Co’s Home Alone House
