Calgary police have laid more charges against a man accused in a brazen, daylight shooting thought to be connected to organized crime.
Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 30, 2023, someone called police to report a shooting involving two vehicles on westbound Glenmore Trail, near 37 Street SW. Both vehicles left the scene before police got there and no injuries were reported.
About half-an-hour later, officers were called to a house in Seton for reports that one man had been shot. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Investigators believe the suspect fired multiple rounds while in the residential area, with stray bullets hitting four surrounding homes. He then left the scene in a stolen vehicle, according to police.
Both shootings targeted the same persona and were thought to be connected to organized crime conflict in the city, according to police.
