Lottery player buys car without even asking for the price after massive win

Lucky roommates in Quebec hit the lottery jackpot last month and have already made some big purchases.

Francine Thibodeau and her roommate Johanne Bergeron won the Lotto 6/49 Classic Jackpot worth $5 million in the October 12 draw.

The two Beauce residents (Chaudière-Appalaches) received their prize on October 23 during a celebration in Saint-Georges.

Thibodeau bought the lottery ticket and checked it at the end of the day on October 16, according to Loto-Québec.

When she saw that she and her long-time roommate had won $5 million, she quickly returned home to share the amazing news.

Loto-Québec says Thibodeau and Bergeron celebrated with tears of joy and laughter, realizing how much their lives were about to change.

They had the valuable ticket in a drawer until they could submit it to the lottery corporation.

Thibodeau worked at a hospital and Bergeron worked in construction, but they are now both retired and have big plans with their lottery windfall.

Thibodeau told Loto-Québec that she’s finally treating herself to the car of her dreams — a Jeep!

When she called the dealership to order the vehicle, Thibodeau felt she didn’t even need to ask for the price thanks to their huge lottery prize.

The new multimillionaires also plan to pay off their mortgage with the windfall.

They bought the winning ticket at the Super C grocery store at 8585 Boulevard Lacroix in Saint-Georges.

Make sure to check your lottery tickets from the past week’s draws because you could be like the fortuitous roommates.

Three Canadian players split the second prize from the Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday.

Thibodeau and Bergeron aren’t the only lottery players who treated themselves after a big win.

This single mom has major 50th birthday plans thanks to a huge prize. And this skilled trade worker is also excited to be mortgage-free after winning six figures.
