Letters, Nov. 3, 2024: ‘Blame Trudeau’

Article content

If tent cities popping up in every community in Canada were not enough to show you the disastrous legacy of poverty caused by the Justin Trudeau government, the Canadian Medical Association Journal is warning Canadian doctors to be on the lookout for rising cases of scurvy as food insecurity is allowing this medieval time’s disease to make a comeback. In the next election, Canadians need to punish the Liberal party and the NDP party that keeps Trudeau in power, for bringing Canada to its knees in weakness.

(Canadians are restless and Team Trudeau may pay the price.)

Hang in there, Justin

Mr. Trudeau, thank you for not giving in to your party members who want you gone. Truthfully, I cannot think of a more certain way for Canadians to be rid of you than for you to stay as the prime minister until the next election. Clearly, your arrogance blinds you to what most Canadians see when they look at and listen to you, so please don’t change a thing.

Under pressure

Re “Premiers fight to lower gas taxes” (Jay Goldberg, Nov. 1): Goldberg must be the ultimate optimist if he believes that Trudeau’s outrageous gas taxes will last past early 2025, when Canadians will go to the polls, burdened by multiple efforts to force the Liberals to call an election. Just consider these current issues regarding the failure of this government: The ongoing Green Slush Fund; the Bloc’s unwavering efforts to press for support for a non-confidence motion along with support from Poilievre (not so sure about Singh); refusal to release unredacted documents from the foreign interference inquiry; and finally, the foment among many Lib MPs for Trudeau to step down. How long can the Liberals withstand this pressure? Certainly not for another year.

(Trudeau is under no real threat of being forced to resign. He wants to fight in the next election)

Parents should know

I do agree with the concept of parents being privy to what is going on in the lives of their children. The fact this should even be an issue is a bizarre trend. Why do trans people feel their rights are more valued than their parents’ rights? Kids SHOULD wait until they are more mature before deciding on any drastic changes. The practice of deceiving parents is a dangerous road to take. We need family values so desperately now.

(It’s certainly a controversial topic.)
