Letters, Nov. 1, 2024: ‘Unruly behaviour creating fear on trains’

Article content

They need more security on city transit and are cracking down on unruly behaviour and yet the addicts are on the trains, on their way to Sheldon Chumir health centre for their drugs. One of them was yelling and punching the air at someone only he could see. I am a senior on my way to Kirby centre and have to be frightened by this.

IVY GRAY

(You deserve to feel safe taking the trains.)

Leave her alone!

Why are the naysayers all over Premier Smith over the tax rebate, including Rick Bell? It will happen when it happens, but the armchair quarterbacks aren’t patient enough, they want it yesterday. Crawl back under your rocks, you so-called experts, you are not the government. Let Smith govern and do the job she was elected to do – the majority of Albertans are behind her!

BRUCE HAYNES

(Rick will always hold our leaders to account.)

Don’t ditch smith

If ungrateful clowns force the resignation of Canada’s finest premier at the UCP’s AGM meeting, all we will hear is the sound of Justin Trudeau and Naheed Nenshi’s laughter.

IAIN FOULDS

(The last thing the UCP needs is another leadership race at this point.)

Body clock

I am so tired of reading/hearing about the health risks to our circadian body clocks, and our inability to adjust, every time we change our physical clocks by one lousy hour every six months. Instead, let’s recognize the serious health risks to all of our maintenance, medical and emergency rotating shift workers who are often forced to turn their body clocks cyclically around by 12 hours at a time, twice or more, every single week.

MARVIN SANDOMIRSKY

(This debate continues to rage on. )

Who’s playing games?

While Jagmeet Singh has clearly stated the NDP will not play ‘games’ to help the Conservatives and the Bloc bring down the Liberal government, he won’t say why. The unfortunate fact is his party is broke and can’t afford to campaign in an election. Now a shrewd leader would be asking Justin to spot them a few bucks to keep the moribund Liberal party on life support for a couple more months.

AL WILLEY

(The Liberals may not be faring well with donors either.)
